Places to visit in Chardham

Yamunotri:

Yamnotri is situated in Garhwal at the height of 3293 meters over sea level and about 40 km away from Barkot in Uttarkashi area of Uttarakhand. Yamunotri is the unique source of Yamuna River bordered by superior peaks forest and great valley. Yamuna is the second major and holiest river in India following Ganga. It is part of the four sacred abodes in Chardham pilgrimage yatra. Pilgrims also get to have the assistance of a number of hot water springs in the neighborhood of the temple.

Gangotri:

Gangotri is the place from where the River Ganga originates and also the place of deity Ganga, is located in Uttarakhand, it is 300 km from Dehradun and nearby the Indo – Tibetan Boundary. The Gangotri Temple was built by Gorkha commander in the 18th century. Separately from its spiritual consequence, Gangotri is also a sensation of nature. River Ganga originates from the Gangotri glacier and is known as Bhagirathi till it merges with Alaknanda at Devaprayag. From Devprayag, it is recognized as Ganga.

Kedarnath:

Kedarnath temple is one of the holy pilgrimage centers in Northern India which is located on the bank of Mandakini River at an elevation of 3584 meters beyond sea level. The chronological name of this section is "Kedar Khand". Kedarnath temple is a branch of Char Dhams and Panch Kedar in Uttarakhand and it is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India. The attractive magnificence of Kedarnath town attracts plenty of tourists from all over the humanity.

Badrinath:

The Badrinath Temple also referred to as the Badrinarayan Temple which is located in Badrinath town of this state and is regarded as the divine along with the char dhams. It is totally dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is regarded as Shri Badrinath in this temple. The temple is located at an altitude of 50 ft, has a vibrant main door also identified as the Singhdwar. It has three sections; the Garbhagriha, the Darshan Mandap, and the Sabha Mandap.

How to reach Chardham

By Air:

Jolly Grant Airport, commonly known as Dehradun Airport is the adjoining airport to the Chardham. Helicopters and small personal planes are also permitted to make a landing at the airport.

By Train:

The contiguous railheads from Chardham are Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun and Kotdwar. Buses, taxis and private cabs are without difficulty available outside the station.

By Bus:

The well laid out network of roads make it achievable to reach Chardham in a comfortable manner. Inter-city transportation services and taxis are offered on a regular basis. Buses can be boarded from Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun, Gangotri and Uttarkashi.

we had an excellent and uneventful trip to char dham that was extremely well organized and arranged by sunil in person. he was very prompt responding to my emails and addressing my concerns while arranging the trip for us. given the difficult roads that we had to navigate, having a good driver was very important - kamal was an excellent driver and he did a marvelous job keeping us safe. ashish was our guide and we are glad that we chose to have him as he did a great job explaining everything in
